Three Winter Nights in Hurghada: Which Hotel?

The same three nights, four quotes

Every quote below is for the same stay: check in Sunday 13 December, check out Wednesday 16 December 2026, two adults, one room. The total includes the 12% service charge, 14% sales tax and 1% city tax; it does not include optional extras.

The four hotels, one by one

Shellghada Hotel and Beach

On Old Sheraton Road, listed as beachfront with a private beach area, sun umbrellas, a beach restaurant and a diving centre. The sea-view room has one double and one single bed and takes up to three guests. It is a request-to-book hotel, so your booking is confirmed by the hotel rather than instantly. Worth asking: the listing does not include a pool, so if you want one in winter, ask. A half-board upgrade is offered at EGP 307 per guest per night, before service charge and taxes; with it, the same stay came to EGP 11,762.

Dexon Roma Hotel

On Sheraton Road. Its rates include half board, so dinner is covered on all three nights. The balcony room has two single beds and a sofa bed, not a double bed. The hotel describes a rooftop pool, a spa and steam room, and a short walk from Orange Beach. Worth asking: the listing also tags a private beach area; ask where it is, how you get there and whether a fee applies. Full board (EGP 137) and all-inclusive (EGP 412) upgrades are priced per guest per night, before service charge and taxes.

Rivoli Suites

Hotel apartments in El Nasr, with an address opposite Hurghada airport, two pools including a children's pool, a spa and a garden. It is the only one of the four that offers a non-refundable rate, which was EGP 1,229 cheaper for these dates but is paid online at booking and cannot be cancelled for a refund. Worth asking: the hotel's own distance to the beach is 2.9 km. An airport shuttle is listed as a facility, but it is not bookable on As-home, so ask the hotel about it and its price.

TK Suites

In the Intercontinental area, a small building that calls itself a modern motel, with suites, an outdoor pool, a restaurant and a bar. Breakfast is included. Worth asking: the hotel's own distance to the beach is 1 km, so plan how you will get there. An all-inclusive upgrade is offered at EGP 982 per guest per night, before service charge and taxes.

Winter checks before you book

• Heated pool. None of the four listings says a pool is heated. Rivoli Suites describes a "year-round" outdoor pool, which tells you it is open, not that it is heated. Ask if it matters.
• What is open. Ask whether the beach restaurant, rooftop or spa operate on your dates.
• Arrival time. None of the four listings states a check-in time. If you land late or early, tell the hotel and ask what it can do.

• Price. Winter is not always cheaper. Compare the total for your exact dates.

A light three-night outline

Day 1, arrival. Check in, then use the evening near the hotel. At Dexon Roma, dinner is already included.

Day 2, the hotel's strength. The beach at Shellghada, the pools and spa at Rivoli, the rooftop at Dexon Roma. Diving and snorkelling are listed at Shellghada's on-site centre; they are booked with the hotel, not on As-home.

Day 3, out and about. A walk along the Sheraton Road area or the marina, or a trip arranged locally.

Day 4, departure. Ask about check-out time and luggage storage if your flight is later.
